Jason Moon announces campaign for State Representative, 21st District.

Mukilteo Council President Jason Moon is running for Position 1 in Washington's 21st Legislative District.

At the start of March 2026, Jason announced his campaign for State Representative in the 21st Legislative District, Position 1, which covers Mukilteo, Edmonds, Lynnwood, Everett and nearby communities.

Why he's running

Jason says too many residents feel unheard on the issues that matter most. People want leaders who show up, listen and take action.

His priorities are fiscal responsibility, housing affordability, homelessness and drug impacts, and public safety. He also believes local communities, not Olympia, should make land use decisions about their neighborhoods.

A full-time representative

Incumbent Rep. Strom Peterson also holds a seat on the Snohomish County Council. Jason argues the district deserves a representative focused on one job.

Born in Chicago and raised in South Snohomish County since 1985, Jason is a Korean American Democrat with 40 years in the area and children in the Mukilteo School District. Korean media in the region and nationally covered the announcement.
