Jason votes no on raising Mukilteo's sales tax to the highest in the state.
Jason was one of three councilmembers who voted against a councilmanic sales tax increase that would have made Mukilteo's rate the highest in Washington.

In June 2025, the Mukilteo City Council voted 4 to 3 to raise the local sales tax from 10.6% to 10.7%. Jason voted no.
Protecting residents and local businesses
The increase would have given Mukilteo the highest sales tax rate in Washington. Jason, along with Councilmembers Steve Schmalz and Mike Dixon, opposed it.
Mayor Joe Marine later vetoed the ordinance, citing the burden on local businesses and residents during ongoing economic pressure.
Fiscal responsibility first
Jason's vote reflects a principle he has carried into his State House campaign: look for savings and smarter spending before asking families to pay more.
