Leading the Mukilteo City Council through a busy spring.
As Council President, Jason guided the council through a waterfront decision, a resignation, a new appointment and a debate on public comment.

Spring 2026 kept the Mukilteo City Council busy. Local coverage followed Jason's positions as Council President on several key issues.
Lot 5 on the waterfront
On the future of Lot 5, the city owned waterfront parcel between Lighthouse Park and Edgewater Beach, Jason said he did not want to sell it and was interested in keeping it as a park or exploring other options.
A vacancy and a new colleague
When Councilmember Mike Dixon resigned unexpectedly in April, Jason said he did not see it coming. In May, the council unanimously appointed Ilona Van Duser, Jason's pick in both rounds of voting, to fill Position 5.
More room for residents to speak
Jason supported trying public comment at council work sessions on a trial basis, with a review after a year. He also voted to keep the Native Land Acknowledgement on the agenda, read on the first Monday of each month.
